Female rugby players travel north of NSW to participate in the second leg of the Super 7s Series. Tomorrow Goulburn Rugby Union Football Club will host 8 women’s teams, 6 Girls U16 teams and 5 teams in the Girls U14 division.
Brumbies Rugby development officer Angus Balmaks who works closely within the South Coast Monaro province says “Despite the long distance most of these regional teams have to travel it’s great to see it hasn’t dampened their enthusiasm to play”. Balmaks also attributes the growing provincial interest in the women’s game a major factor in fostering talent. “With Narooma winning the Girls U14 division, and Jindabyne taking out the Girls U16 division in the first leg of the series, it just shows the continued and growing support these regions have for rugby.”
The Super 7s Series kicks off 9 am tomorrow at Goulburn Rugby Union Club, Simon Poidevin Oval with some of the younger grades to be played at Trinity College from 10am.
